Tobie Kerridge – Material Beliefs
Tobie Kerridge is a researcher and PhD candidate at Goldsmiths. He talked about a science and society project funded by the EPSRC. Material Beliefs is a network of scientists, engineers and designers exploring the interaction between silicon and cells. This is Laboratory research meets speculative design, leading to prototypes and public events, encouraging discussion about the social outcomes of technoscience.
Yuri Suzuki is a product designer and a musician recently graduated from the RCA. He talked about process of producing “sound chaser”, a scalextric style record player, from his latest project “physical value of sound”.
Dominic Harris runs Cinimod Studio, a multi-disciplinary design practice spanning architecture, lighting and interactive design. He talked about his recent collaboration with NY artist Peter Coffin, for which he designed and built a UFO that flew over the Polish city of Gdansk.
