James Wheare

James Wheare is a London-based web developer who started building websites in 2000 while still at school. In 2006, he built LiveBus.org—a website that shows local bus stops on a map and tracks arrivals in real-time. The website was recognised at the New Statesman New Media Awards 2007 where James was named Young Innovator of the Year. He went on to work at Last.fm and is now working on IRCCloud, a web-based IRC service he founded with Richard Jones.

James Wheare will talk about Twitshift. It’s a service that lets you follow yourself on Twitter from a year ago. He will talk about service design, shipping crappy prototypes, things without a real UI, revealing
emergent contexts from existing behaviour, dealing with limitations.
