Lauren Hayes

Lauren Sarah Hayes is a composer/performer/improviser from Glasgow. Her practice explores new strategies for live electronic performance by investigating the performer’s physical relationship with the digital realm. Her background is in piano, mathematics and philosophy, all of which inform her solo performance work and current research towards a PhD in Creative Music Practice at the University of Edinburgh.
She enjoys performing her music around the world and recent ventures include Norberg, Sonorities, NIME and ICMC. She has been supported by artistic residencies at EMS (Stockholm) and also at STEIM (Amsterdam). In 2012 she directed the Inventor Composer Coaction, and is a founding member of LLEAPP.
